Menthol cigarette ban – what does that mean for you?
In the spring of 2020, the sale of menthol cigarettes in Denmark ended. This is because the EU has chosen to ban the sale of cigarettes with a flavor other than tobacco, such as menthol. The ban applies throughout the EU region. It is one of many initiatives adopted by the EU legislators to reduce the number of new smokers, especially among young people.
The new ban includes tobacco for smoking – that is, cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco. This means that in the future you can still buy, for example, e-cigarettes as well as smoke-free tobacco with a menthol taste. Read more about the ban on menthol cigarettes
